Foot Injury, Bleeding Toenail, Hanging Skin Tag. On Cephalexinm Used Hydrogen Peroxide. Is That Normal?

I got my foot stepped on by a horse a week ago, nothing was broken. My big toenail was bleeding around the edges and a little loose, but not bruised or anything. A few days later someone stepped on my toe and tore the nail right off, but it was still hanging on by a small piece of skin. I went to the doctor and he wrapped it up with the nail still on to keep it protected and I had that on for two days, I tried to keep it dry in the shower and it got soaked, so I took it off because I didn't want anything to happen to it, and when it was drying the nail easily came off. He prescribed me 500 mg of Cephalexin for five days. I have a band aid on it with healing creme, but it is leaking this weird liquid. It looks like the very bottom layer of the the nail that was attached to the bed is still on and is getting yellow and falling off, and it is still sensitive. I've been soaking it in warm water and pouring hydrogen peroxide on it, as well as letting it air dry to harden up, what should I do, is it normal?

Hello,
Thanks for the query,

You have done a wrong thing by keeping the nail.

It must be removed, else it will get infected.

New nail will grow in place of old one.

Let me know you have any other doubts.

Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
