Fluttering Of Heart, Feeling Of Skip In Heartbeat. History Of Chest Infection, Nasty Taste In Mouth, Scarred Lungs. Regular Intake Of Alcohol. Concerning?

Is it normal for my heart to flutter as if it is skipping beats and not functioning properly? I also had a severe chest infection last year and when this developed I had a nasty taste in my mouth. This is still with me. When I had an X-ray for the chest infection last year it was found that it had scarred my lungs??? I am a 36 year old female. 5ft 3 and 10 stone. I drink alcohol on most nights after a stressful day at work so wondering if this might be a contributing factor.

Rheumatologist 's  Response
Hi .

Thank you for posting you query.
Dear madam,

Looking at your history i feel that two situations can be there either you are suffering fromarrythmias due to underlying heart disease or it may be due to alcohol.alcohol is notorious for causing cardiomyopathy , atrial fibrillation etc.
I advise you to visit a cardiologist get an ECG done 2 d ECHO if requored to figure out exact cause.
I think it is unlikely to be related to chest infection as if now but nothing can be said before investigations.

Thank you.
If you have any query feel free to ask.
