First Time Unprotected Sex. Took ECP, Severe Bleeding, Sore Stomach. Due To Pregnancy Or ECP?

Last friday night, I had sex for the first time, and it was unprotected and I was not on the pill . The next morning I took the Ecp pill and now I ve started bleeding really heavily with a sore stomach(the same feeling as period pains), But my period also finished last friday afternoon and shouldn t be back for another month?? Please help :( Do you bleed A LOT before you get pregnant? but then aren t the side effects i m getting to soon to be pregnancy side effects?

hello,

Emergency pill gives more than 95% protection against unwanted pregnancy within first 24 hrs. Here, chance of pregnancy is NIL as you did safe sex just after period over.

Now, you are getting withdrawal bleeding due to effect of the pill and it usually stops within 3 to 4 days. Prolong bleeding may be due to hormonal imbalance and you can take Tranexamic acid drug to arrest bleeding.

Your period may be delayed for 1 -2 weeks from due date due to stress and hormone ups & downs. Practice safe sex in future and use contraceptive pill.
