Chest X ray is a very useful examination in detecting any abnormalities in the chest region. As haziness is mentioned, CT scan chest might give us the exact details of the problem and whether it is associated with your husbands present situation. I suppose your husband has taken medication through the week. Pneumonia has typical appearances on Chest X ray. As you have not mentioned the exact area of haziness, it is difficult for me to list out probable conditions, however the CT scan will confirm even a problematic area as small as 2 mm in diameter. Keeping haziness in mind, any fluid collection in the chest will also be confirmed. Hope this helps
