Felt Like Vomiting, Dizziness, Hands Shaking, Breathless. What Is Causing Above Symptoms?

My mum felt like vommiting and was very dizzy just now. She felt breathless and her hands were shaking. Although she felt better after about 10 minutes, I m still worried about her.She also had dizziness on the past 2 weeks on some days, but this had stopped for 6 days before what had happened to her this morning. What could have happened to her?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear Friend,
Your mother's symptoms are a bit alarming but entirely treatable so please don't worry. Is your mother a diabetic under medication? In that case, low sugar levels also called hypoglycaemia can be one of the causes. If she is not a diabetic then low blood pressure, low haemoglobin levels, fatigue, fasting or onset of any viral illness can cause such symptoms. Dizziness can also be due to a known history of cervical spondylosis. Please get your mother's sugar levels, both Fasting and PP ie 2 hrs after food done at the earliest. Get her blood pressure checked up. Please ask for any new medication or any missed medicines. Ask her to use a thin, firm pillow during the night. If she has not slept well for a few days, that may be one of the causes. Consult a good physician in your locality at the earliest. Do not ignore the symptoms even though she may be alright now.
Take care and give my regards to our mother.
