Felling Pain After A Head Injury Of A 3 Years Baby
My 3 year old son fell 2 weeks ago off the back of the couch and hit his head just to the front right part on the side above the eye. He had a little swelling. My husband is an EMT so he watched him. There was no dialation or vomiting, although he was sleepy afterwards (we did not let him go to sleep). The bump is gone, but he still complains that it hurts when the spot is touched. Is this normal?
Welcome to Healthcare Magic
Has the ER Doc examined him. If he did not lose consciousness, vomit or lose memory then less chance of brain bleed. He may have suffered only scalp bleed or haematoma. There will be slight tenderness. If he is neurologically stable, responding to your commands, active and no problem in walking he can be observed. If there is any problem otherwise you should take him to the ER.
