It is hurting because you need treatment. You should have consulted a doctor, your symptoms are indicative of fracture
or a hair-line crack. Do visit an orthopedic doctor and have your X-RAY done. You will get reports in no time. You will need a Plaster of Paris. There is nothing to be scared of.
The doctor will do the plaster, prescribe medications for relief from pain and give calcium tablets to help your bone get healed faster. You may need to keep the plaster for some days. The doctor will give you dates to re-visit him again and have the plaster removed. Do not sit back at home, you will spoil your hand. Take care.
