Fell from stairs, hit my toes and head. Swelling with pain. Should I go to the doctor?

Hi there. I currently have the flu so I have been home sick. I was going to my basement to get some canned soup, but I slipped and fell down my treacherous stairs. I slamme my toes into the wall at the bottom, landed on my back, and smacked my head really hard on the stairs. I had has a nose bleed before I fell, but I got another one on the other side after falling. My back and head are also in a lot of pain, and the pain in my back goes all the way through to my ribs. My toes hurt really bad as well, and they are swollen, but I can move them. I guess my question is, should I go to the doctor or ER??

hi ,
I think you need to visit your doctor as soon as possible. You are having swollen legs which are hurting, so it might be fracture or ligament tear. you have a bleeding nose too... which can be due to some damage to blood vessels in your nasal cavity. if you try to get medicine on yourself , it will definitely take long time to heal and may be that you later realize that you should have visited doctor earlier.
So kind;y visit you doctor as soon as possible.

get well soon.

Hello Dear and thanks for the query
Any type of head injury have ENT bleed should be ruled out by CT scan. It is a good sign that you have no loss of consciousness and vomiting (I hope so) but what is the cause for nose bleed? Is it internal injury in the brain?
In addition to this swollen toes and back needs to be investigated for any type of fracture by doing the X-rays.
In the mean while take some analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug. Do Ice fermentation and keep the foot end elevated to reduce pain and swelling.
Hope this will help you, But you have to go to ER and get your CT scan head done.
Best Wishes
