Feeling throat congestion after travel. Swollen tonsil. Need help

I have just come back from a trip to Mexico (I live in the UK) and have had the feeling that something is stuck in the back of my throat . Now I have one very swollen left tonsil that appeared on Friday (Now Monday) however no pain. I am extremely worried that it could be something serious (every search I do on the internet leads to tonsil cancer )! I have no other symptoms. I am 32 years old and female. Can you help?

As per the symptoms you have mentioned its a pharyngo tonsillitis problem . It's a common problem becoz u have changed the place due to travel. Try antibiotic with amoxicillin and clavulanic acid combination twice daily for 7 days . Then observe , if it still persist and will have your lymph nodes enlarged , consult ENT specialist. Tonsillar cancer is very very rare, don't thing about it and stop searching over Internet.
