Feeling Shortness Of Breath After A Roller Coaster Ride

I am in Orlando Florida and I went to ride a roller coaster yesterday. The operator of the ride had to push down really hard on the bar to get it to lock, which took away all my breath. I could not take in any breathe...I felt like I was suffocating. I made it off the ride, thank God for a quick ride. I am still having short breathes. It hurts to take deep breathes. I have felt all ribs and no pain there. Could I have some sort of lower lung collapse?

Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
No, it is not due to lower lung collapse.
In my opinion you are having mostly musculoskeletal pain due to hard pushing of safety bar.
But better to get done chest x ray first.
If chest x ray is normal then no need to worry for lung collapse.
It is musculoskeletal pain mostly.
So avoid strenuous exercise and heavyweight lifting.
Avoid bad posture and movements in sleep.
Take good painkiller and muscle relaxant.
Apply warm water pad on affected site.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
