Feeling Dizzy And Light Headed, Pain Around Mouth And Lips, Cholesterol And Blood Pressure Normal

Hi there - Over the past couple of days I have been having bouts of dizziness and feeling light headed. I also get occasional pins and needles around my mouth and lips . I am a little concerned (may be melodramatic) as my mom passed away from cancer a year ago and these were her initial symptoms. I had my cholesterol and blood pressure checked last week and am apparently very healthy. Please could you shine some light on this and weather I should go to me GP or someone more specialized. Thanks you. Jason

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.

There can be many causes of dizziness and feeling of lightheadedness.
After reading your post, I would like to advise that you should get yourself clinically examined by a Neurophysician and an ENT specialist.

Following investigations may be helpful :-
1. Blood pressure and pulse rate monitoring.
2. Electrocardiograph(ECG).
3. CT/MRI of head and neck.
4. Serum Electrolytes levels.

You can take Betahistine 16 mg thrice daily for relief from your symptoms.

Following precautions may be helpful ;-

-Avoid lying on very thick pillows.
-Follow correct posture while working on computers.
-Eat healthy diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables.
-Drink lots of water daily.
