General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

Your condition could have not been treated either due to an insufficient dose of antibiotics, duration or an inappropriate or incomplete diagnosis.

Please visit a respiratory disease specialist, who will rule out/diagnose all possibilities in the lower respiratory tract and then treat you for your apparent upper respiratory tract infection.

A sputum analysis will give us information on which antibiotic will best treat/kill the infection you are suffering from.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.
