Feeling Chest Pain While Breathing. Chest Infection Found In The X-ray. Due To Smoking?
Hi Doctor, I have been experiencing a chest pain on my right chest particularly when I inhale strongly, when i burp, when I yawn and move aside while sleeping. I took the xray and the doctor said it is due to chest infection. I do smoke one cigrette a day and sometimes 0. Do i need to take antibiotics for the same ? I am not experiencing any temperature or cough or anything. Regards, Rizal
hi
your symtoms feel as if you have got an acute pleuritis. The typical symptoms is localised chest pain with catches on deep inspiration or related manouvers like coughing, sneezing etc. this happens because the two pleural layers come closer and cause pain. you may take antibiotics.
you may go for complete blood count and sputum examination.
smoking at this frequency does no harm but will be better if you quit.
your symptoms seems to be of acute pleuritis where there is localized chest pain which increases in conditions which bring the two pleural layer together like taking deep breath, coughing, sneezing etc.
since chest xray suggests infection you should go for complete blood count, sputum for acid fast bacilli, gram staining, culture and sensitivity.
empirically you can take antibiotics like azithromycin 500 mg once a day...
best wishes
