Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hi,
1. Two tests needed to make a diagnosis of Hashimotos hypothyroidism are serum TSH and Anti thyroid peroxidase antibody.
Additional tests like Ultrasound of neck and T3, T4 will help if you can afford it.

2. Iodine rich diet or Iodaral is not a treatment for Hashimotos hypothyroidism, it is used for Iodine deficiency hypothyroidism (Another cause of hypothyroidism)
Hashimotos hypothyroidism is treated with thyroxine hormone replacements

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

With warm regards,

Dr Ajish TP (MD,DM)
