Fall On Knee, Lump And Swelling, Stiffness. No Pain. What Is Causing Bruising?

Last week I took a hard fall on my right knee . I have a large lump and some swelling and bruising. It still feels quite stiff. This morning I noticed that, below my right ankle, my foot is turning black and blue on both sides. I m not feeling any pain in my ankle/foot. I ve been icing my knee and elevating it when I can, but I am on my feet a lot during the day. Is this what is causing the bruising in my foot? Thanks.

Hello and welcome to HCM
You have mentioned that you have had a fall on your right knee. The knee is swollen and is stiff.
You should get a MRI of the knee joint. MRI will help in viewing if there is some soft tissue injury to the knee joint. The knee joint is made up of various structures which provide good deal of stability to the joint.
These structures are cruciate ligaments, the menisci and the capsular ligaments. In case of injury to any one structure should be promptly treated.

Regarding the bruise around the ankle, it could be due to an injury around the ankle. The injury could be to the ligaments.
I advice you to give hot formrntation to the ankle and knee joints.
It would be very good if you give some rest to both your joints.

Thanks and take care
