General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi Ding,

Welcome to HCM.
As she has successfully completed the course of 6 months, you need not worry. At present the treatment available for pulmonary tuberculosis is very effective and once the course has been completed successfully, then there is nothing to worry.
X.ray findings are suggestive of healed lesion and not that of a cavity, so stop worrying and start enjoying life to the full.
Wishing you both all the best.

Hi well come to HCM.
Even in old treated and totally cured of tuberculosis pt old calcified fibrotic healed
lesion will persists in X-ray chest for years to gether. It is like mark of healed scar on
the body. How ever to confirm total cure 3 consecutive samples of sputum test for AFB
negative, and Blood ESR, can be taken for additional support of cure. Thanks

Psychiatrist Dr. Alok Ranjan's  Response
IT IS BETTER TO KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR DISEASES:
TB IS MAJOR COMMUNICABLE DISEASE WITH INCIDENCE 30%.

PULMONARY TB IS MAJOR FORM OF TUBERCULOSIS,INFECTION CAUSE BY MYCOBACTER.

THE BACTERIA SETTELS IN LUNG AT APICAL LOBE(UPPER PART).

IT FORMS CONONY K/A GHON"S COMPLEX BY CAUSING NECROSIS(DAMAGE).

THE BODY OWN IMMUNE SYSTEM CAUSES NECROSIS TO HEEL UP BY FIBROUS TISSUE SAME AS SCAR.

GHON"S COMPLEX IN X-RAY SHOWS ACTIVE STATE.

THE FIBROTIC TISSUE INDICATES NON-EXISTANT INFECTION.,BUT DORMANT BACTERIA MAY BE PRESENT.

BUT X-RAY RESULT IS NOT USED AS CONFORMATORY INFORMATION,ONLY AND ONLY NEIL -ZEILSON STAINING IS APPROVED UNDER REV TUBERCULOSIS PROGGRAME.AND PERFORMED YEARLY FOR 3 CONSECUTIVE YEAYS TO RULE OUT DORMAN BACTERIA BECOMING ACTIVE.
