Hi... Tears in the eyes are secreted from the glands. They form a lining over the eyes for some times and then get removed either as watering from the eyes or through a duct that is connected to the nose.. It can be possible that those tears that were not removed through the duct during the time of death, can come as watering..

Nothing superstitious about this. Emptying the Tears gland immediately after death may occur resulting in water in eyes.If the Nasolacrymal duct is blocked or not functioning due to death, tears will be noted in eyes. Nothing more than that.
