Eye Discharge, Redness, Foggy Vision After Using New Contact Lenses. Cause?

Hi, in the past I have worn regular Acuvue 2 contact lenses with no problem whatsoever. About 2 years ago an eye Dr. told me that I should go to Acuvue Oasys because they breathe better and have had nothing but problems with them. I have had goopy, red eyes as well as foggy blotches in my line of vision while wearing the contacts. I now have switched back to the Acuvue 2 contact lenses and they are also making my eyes red and goopy, but not blotchy in my line of vision. I would like to know what would cause this since we thought it was the silicon hydragel contacts that the Acuvue Oasys were made of. The Dr. also said it could be from the solution. What would be the best solution to use? I use Opti free.

The redness could be due various reasons;
1. The solution: how long has it been open, the bottle might be contaminated even if new,do change your solution even if you are not using lenses every day.
2.And you might be having contact lens induced allergic reation & dry eye as well.
3.Hope you are not having viral conjunctivitis.
Solution to your problems:
1. Temporarily discontinue wearing contact lens till your eyes are quiet.
2. See your eye dr. Use antibiotic steroids and tear substitutes(like Optive 1hrly)
3.When you finally start wearing your lens change your solution. Most solutions are good. You might try Bausch & Lomb Renew.
