Experiencing Testicular Discomfort And Difficulty In Urination
I have been experiencing testicular discomfort for a couple of weeks and in the last couple of days this discomfort has intensified. I have noticed today a blokage (knot) or some large sensitive mass has formed between my testicals. On either end of the left testical is sensitive to the touch, this side seems to be where the discomfort and pain is generating from at this point. There has been no trouble urenating or discomfort associated with urenation.
Hi, Most likely you are experiencing what we term 'epididymo-orchitis' which is an inflammation of the male reproductive organs. This needs to be confirmed by means of an ultrasound with colour doppler examination of the vascularity to ensure we do not miss torsion of testes. A Urine examination and if required culture will help us know if the infection has come from the urinary tract which is the usual source. The condition, if indeed an inflammation, usually responds well to empirical antibiotics initially like Ciprofloxacin and an anti-inflammatory agent, and scrotal support can be given to alleviate the distress. Sometimes, there could be intensified inflammation in which case it might be necessary to let the pus out. Hope I have been able to help you.
