Experiencing Pain On The Left Side Of The Head , What Are The Possible Treatments ?

I have been having pain on the left side of my head for about 5 years now. It started with a twinge-like pain about the size of a pea. Now I experienced pain all over that side of my head at different times. There is no rhyme or reason for this pain. I have had an MRI and an MRA. Nothing showed up. I was told by an orthopedic doctor that it is coming from my neck and I have arthritis in my neck. This pain seem to be disconnected to the pain I feel in my head. I am left handed and thought maybe I have more strain on that side. I get this pain anywhere from the top of my head to the bottom of my neck. Sometimes it is quite pain. I may not have it everyday. I sometimes feel that something is inflamed in there. Any answers you I would greatly appreciate.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
The most common kind of pain or discomfort in the head is usually due to a tension headache. These are usually caused by tight muscles in the neck, shoulder and jaws and are often related to stress, minor injury or abnormal positioning.
If you are experiencing localize pain, consult your doctor. They will be able to do an assessment, make a diagnosis and prescribe any necessary treatments or course of action.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
