ThisHas Been Bothering Me For About 10 Years, IHave Tried Changing Diet, Baby Powder, Antifungal, Sit Baths, Every Over The Counter Cream . IItch At Night Unaware Of Doing It, Or During The Day, Of Course ITry Not To Do It At All. Using Baby Wipes OR, Soft Cloth After BowEl Movements. Hi. 10 years is a long time of your suffering. The first requisite to get a cure is just stop all local applications. You might have developed dermatitis medicamentosa by this time. I hope by this time you might have taken the antihelminthics ( for the worms in stool) . In addition to Albendazole 400 mg on an empty stomach - one dose and repeat after 2 weeks follow this. all the patients presented to me get well with this treatment , which you have to follow under your Doctor's supervision : A course of antibiotic like cefixime or ofloxacin, Vitamin A supplement 6 capsules ( 3 million units) , Vitamin D3 one sachet daily for 3 days and continue with multiviamins. Also take a course of Metronidazole 400 mg three times a day for 5 days if you are an adult. Newer steroids like deflazacort in reducing doses under guidance of a Doctor if you are not a diabetic or hypertensive. Start on a full normal diet. Within a few days to a few weeks your symptoms will get alright. If this treatment does not help you, then you should consult a Gastroenterologist to undergo colonoscopy to rule out any underlying pathology which caused this problem. Just relax , many patients do get cured.
