Experiencing Excess Burping And Swelling After A Tummy Tuck

I had a tummy tuck five weeks ago and although I believe I am doing well I have experience excessive burping after meals. I am also wondering about the benefits of lymphatic massages will this assist in the continue fluid / swelling that I am experiencing?

Hello,
I can understand your concern for your GI symptoms.
1) No, lymphatic massage will not help to get relief from your symptoms.
2) Are you experiencing abdominal pain, constipation? If so then your symptoms might be due to indigestion. Indigestion is from inadequate intestinal digestive enzymes.
3) If such additional symptoms are absent and you experience only burping after eating then it is related to GERD in which stomach acid moves up into esophagus due to weak esophagus-stomach junction and produce inflammation in lower part of esophagus. Treatment for this consist of medication for acidity, medication to promote intestinal movement, intestinal digestive enzyme supplementation.
4) Hiatus hernia is most common condition to develop GERD. Large hernia require surgery if symptoms can not be controlled with medications.
5) Upper GI endoscopy is essential to diagnose these conditions.
