Experiencing Body Pain And Spasms Due To Drug Addiction

For almost two weeks now, my left arm and left leg specifically have been seizing up at random intervals. It is an intense spasm, almost like an extreme charlie horse but without the tingles. Both limbs will spasm at the same time, and the sensation is incredibly painful and debilitating. I went to the hospital ER twice, and they couldn t figure it out. They didn t find anything in my blood, and when they injected valium into my left shoulder, it caused me to flare up three times in a very short span of time. The first time, they suggested my Flexeril was causing it, the second time they suggested it may be helping. The spasms seem to occur less when I sit or lie still for long periods of time, and will flare up almost instantly when I stand up or move around. The spasms only last about 20-30 seconds. I also take Fortesta, but I ve been on that for well beyond a year now. I don t take any narcotics, and smoke marijuana recreationally. The only thing I can think of is that either the grill cleaner I used at work every day is causing a negative reaction, or there was something funny in the last bag of marijuana I smoked. Lately, and with increasing frequency, I ve also been experiencing strange, numbing tingles in my facial muscles, and sometimes my head will bob down like it suddenly gained 20 pounds in weight. My limbs also experience a severe heaviness and feel like they re dragging my body down through the ground. I m getting desperate here, as I won t be able to see my primary doctor until this Friday, and even then, I either still won t know what s happening, or will have to wait even longer to see a specialist. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and I thank you for taking time out of your schedule to answer.

Short answer: Fortesta (Testosterone) can result in muscle spasms as a side effect. Other than that I don't see any other cause for your spasms from what you have mentioned.

Detailed answer: Flexeril (Cyclobenzaprine) is a muscle relaxant which is actually used to treat muscle spasms. So it is highly unlikely that it is the reason for your spasms. Even Marijuana is known to have similar effects and many people report relief from muscle spasms after smoking it. So that is also out of the way.
Testosterone therapy can cause intermittent muscle spasms in large muscle groups like Hamstrings and Calf muscle as well as small twitches in smaller, individual muscles.
As you are having symptoms of numbing in facial muscles along with your spasms, I would recommend you visit a Neurologist to see if there is any neural cause behind this.

Hope this helps you. Thank you
