Experienced Stroke, Have Weakness In The Left Side, Speech Difficulties, Limp On The Left. Cure?

may 17th I experieced stroke like symptoms. went to the dr. she called 911. I was admitted to hospital for 4 days. All kind of test were done. All were fine. They discharged me. I still have the weakness in the left side, speech difficulties and a limp on the left. I see a neurologist on July 3 (after calling around to everywhere in the area this was the earliest) My question is will I be back to normal. What can I expect from the neurology appt.? I am only 47 yrs old. The ER dr. could not figure out why I have this. Never have headaches .

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Limping after more than a month, means a permanent damage.

For the damage already done, there is no cure – but Physiotherapy is the only course and a near normal quality of life is feasible.
Neurologist will assess the severity and extent of the lesion. He will investigate – MRI, MRA, Blood tests and so on. / advise on prevention of further episodes and management of risk factors
Why you have this? – will be known after the examination and investigations. It is very likely a vascular insult / and the common risk factors are heredity, smoking, cholesterol and so on...

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck

Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic,
After going through your history you had left hemiparesis with speech difficulty it is good that all your tests are normal there are many causes for such weakness connom one are vascular accedent either bleed or thrombus if there is no such issue as you said.
you are taking good step to consult Neurologis and get a MRI angiography done to rule out any defect vascular or even demylenation or sclerosis.
If every thig is fine even vascular headache like migraine may accompany such weakness ( Less likely)
If there is psychological stress is there weakness of Psychological origin may be other possibility.
Hope this helps.
Take care
Good Luck.
