A Chronic infection even if it is not painful ( Probably because of repeated courses of Antibiotics) , is better drained , to ensure complete cure.Else with Bacterial Infections, recurrence is common. If it still doesn't cure ,a different Diagnosis like a Parasitic infection (like a Hydatid Cyst), Tuberculosis or Malignancy ( Cancer )has to be considered. Please note that Males & of all ages, can also develop Breast Cancer.
In Clinic terms the most Benign ( Non-Cancerous) growth, is one that is taken out ! Often a clear Diagnosis is made only after a Histo-Pathological Examination of Tissue removed at Surgery or Pus Cultured from a Drainage Procedure.
