hello Me nd my boyfriend had unprotected sex on 23rd of sept .it was the sixth day of my menstrural cycle . for precautions i took ipill within 24hrs . My period was expected to be on 16th october buh i got it on 4th oct . The bleeding was lighter than normal and continued for 3-4 days . My nxt period was expected on 4th nov but its 11th oct and i still hvnt got my periods .I checked for pregnancy using ican buh the test results are negative .Are there any chances of pregmancy ? plz reply as soon as possible
Hello, The delay in your period is most likely due to the emergency pill. As such, intercourse soon after a period is safe and emergency contraception is not needed. What you had as a light bleeding after use of the pill is a withdrawal bleed. The hormonal disturbance caused due to the excess hormone present in the pill usually delays a period by about a week or two, but, as your period seems to be delayed more than that, you should see a specialist for further help.
