Ear Pain, Ear Swelling, No Ear Discharge. Chills And Fever After Treatment. Reason?

Hi doc, my brother he is 40 yrs, has painful rt ear inside and some painful swelling infront of the ear, no ear discharging yet. Had similar history and ear discharge few years back. Now he is taking some antibiotic and pain relief. But he is not feeling better after three days of treatment and has chills and fever at night, and the front swelling is get tent more painful, does he need more treatment ?

hi,
by looking at his symptoms he must be having an abscess. that is why he had developed chills and fever. may be antibiotic is not able to reach the infection as abscess is covered now. so, he can take pain killer, and abscess has to be drained so that antibiotic can reach the organisms.

in addition, he should also get blood sugar tested, as he is having repeated such infections.
