Ear Ache, Dizziness. Have Tonsillitis. Had Tonsillectomy. What Is The Reason?

Hi there,I am 41 years old and I have been an international level athlete for many years and rarely suffered any health problems with the exception of tonsillitis. In February 2012 I had a tonsillectomy and for three months suffered horrendous ear aches and dizziness. When the ear aches eased off I have experienced on a daily basis dizzy spells and feeling faint. My diet hasn't changed but my running was severely curtailed, now I am barely able to run anywhere near to as I used to. My doctor says that my Thyroid is ok, but I am getting severe dizzy and fainting spells on a daily basis and I feel under the weather almost all the time.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Dear,
As per the history you have given and the clinical findings you may be suffering with Benign positional paroxsmal vertigo. you can start anti verigo drug like tab cinarizine or Tab betahistine for three weeks and then stop . The ENT doctor may have relook. You can consult the neuro physician.
I would suggest you to consult the Specialist if you don’t get relief as on examination the findings may be different and line of treatment may have to be changed.
Yours sincerely
