Dry Rasping Cough For Over A Week, Pain In Right Side. Given Panadol. Any Cause Of Concern ?

My husband has had a dry rasping cough for over a week, it is a really sharp cough and now he has horrific pains in his right side whenever he has to cough so is forcing himself not to cough he does not have a fever and is not finding it hard to breath, he gets some sleep when i give him panadol and he relaxes a bit not sure wether or not to take him to the hospital, we live an hour away from one or just try to get into a doctor for an app

Hi,
Considering the cough and increased chest pain, you Husband needs to be investigated and a Chest Xray is required at the minimum. Its better to get him evaluated at the hospital and preferably get clinical opinion from a Pulmonologist.
