Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

Black, cracked lips are indicative of hormonal changes, increased iron level in blood, vitamin B deficiency, biting/licking of lips, use of low quality lipsticks, lip balms, as a result of reaction to some chemical cosmetic, excessive intake of caffeine, addiction for alcohol, smoking, etc

To help lips get better stop licking or biting them, avoid caffeine intake, stop all addictions, take plenty of water, take multivitamin syrups mainly vitamin B complex, take fruits, berries, veggies, nutritious diet.

Keep lips moisturized, have a thorough health check up done and get treated well. Use good quality herbal lip products. Take care.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to us.

Your lips seem to have developed pigmentation due to cheilitis( frequent chapping and drying). To treat the same

1) use a sunscreen containing lip balm like blistex or neutrogena

2) apply a steroid antibiotic cream like flutibact cream till fissuring over lips heal

3) do not lick your lips, do not peel dry skin from lips

4) once the fissuring of lips heal, you may apply Kojic acid arbutin creams to decrease pigmentation. You may also take arbutin or lactic acid peels over lips to improve lip color.

Hope that helps.

Take care.

Hi, thanks for posting your query

you have Chelitis(dry chapped lips) throughout with pigmentation
It may be due to the use of cosmetics ,like lipsticks, lipgloss
It may be due to,or aggravated by rubbing tongue over lips or lip biting

The following may help:

Avoid cosmetics for a long time. apply a coat of medicated lip balm or before applying lip colours.
Replace your cosmetics every three months

For the cracks, apply triamcinolone ointment combined with mupirocin at night
a lipbalm with spf15 like blistex may be used many times as required to keep the lips moist

once the cracks heal you may apply depigmentation cream like kojic acid at night
few sessions of glycolic peel may be done

hope this helps you
