Dry Cough, Congested Chest And Head. Taken Nasonex And Z Pack. Help

i have a bad cough , its a dry cough, and feel like i have phlegm that i need to cough up. Congested chest , and had a congested head. Nasonex seemed to have work for the head part but the cough has not gone away for nearly 2 weeks now. I have a z pack here that i can take if it will help get rid of this cough and get this phlegm up. I have also gone through almost 2 packs of mucinex and still no phlegm loosening up or coughing up. please help.

Hi
You have taken appropriate antibiotic (Z pack)
You also use proper mucolytic (Mucinex)
This could mean there may not be any phlegm! The feeling may be due to the congestion of the airways. At times mild wheezing - a consequence of past insult - may be there and is not always felt by the patient. You need to see your doctor again - he could detect some clues on examination / at least rule out complications. A cough lasting 3 or more weeks is a definite indication for further and detailed work up. However, it may be a question of time, before you get back to normalcy
Good luck
