Hello
Both these medicines are given to patients suffering from bipolar disorder.
These medicines are generally given for a very longtime and there is no particular schedule or time limit of using them.
Their use depends upon the recovery and benefit of the patient which is decided by the neurologist on continuous visits to him and examination by him.
Once it is decided that the required effect of the medicine has been achieved and patient has become alright, these medicines are tapered gradually to lower dose and then gradually the drug is withdrawn.
Doctor can't withdraw the medicine at once as there is danger of rebound attack of mental disorder.
Must have patience while using such type of medicines
Thanks
Thanks
