My blood results came today and there were: Glucose - 4.9 Serum Cholestrol - 6.0 HDL - 0.96 LDL - 4.3 ALT - 62 iu/L globulin - 31 bilirubin - 13 I have just put a summary of my results, there were few more tests which seems normal. please let me know if there is any particular that you are looking for. Please advise what shall I do? I have already started watching out my diet and gym. I have lost about 4 kgs in 2 weeks now. I am on 101kg now. thanks

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The blood sugar is normal. Diabetes is diagnosed with a fasting of greater than 7.1 and a 2 hr of greater than 11.1, so yours is ok.

The HDL at 0.96, is a bit too low. The HDL is the 'good' cholesterol and the value in men should be greater than 1. It is increased by modifying the diet to reduce fat intake and by increasing physical activity.

The goal for LDL varies according to the number of total risk factors. The risk factors are : age (greater than 45 for a male), smoking, high blood pressure, low HDL, family history of early heart disease. 0 to 1 risk factors- LDL should be less than 4.6, 2 risk factors - less than 3.4, more- less than 2.6.

The liver function tests would be looking for fatty liver which is one of the most common causes of liver disease at present. The ALT is only slightly above normal, not significantly so.

I hope this helps
