Does Usage Of Neosporin Help In Treating Painful Rash In Groin Area?

I have a red, painful rash in the groin area (skin folds) probably due to sweating and obesity. I have two creams my dermatologist prescribed, but don t know if either is appropriate. One is Ammonium Lactate-12, the other is Triamcinolone Acetonoide Ointment 0.1%. Or can I just use a topical antibiotic cream like Neosporin?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
What medications your Dermatologist has prescribed is because of rashes you are encountering in the groin region, which could be due to contact dermatitis or eczema.
Kindly use Triamcinolone Acetonide ointment as it helps in reducing swelling, itching and redness in such types of conditions. Along with that you need to use Ammonium lactate solution which acts as a moisturizer to relieve itching from these conditions.
Neosporin cream is an antibiotic cream and is recommended only to be used for skin infections and not for such conditions which has only skin inflammation.
Kindly use the medications as prescribed by your Dermatologist.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
