Does Umbilical Incision Infection Causing Acute Pain Need ER Admission?
Hi. I took my husband to the ER earlier today due to an infection at the sight of an incision. This incision is umbilical and is due to an laprascopic removal of his gall bladder. The infection is not inside the fascia but was bad enough they reopened the incision (surgery was performed Sept. 14th) today to drain and clean it and then packed it. Now he is in a great deal of pain at the site and tylenol and oxycodone are not doing the trick to stop it. Should we return to the ER?
