Does tramadol contain codeine or a similar content. I reacted to tramadol as I do to morphine, codein. There is nothing on the box explaining what the tramadol contains. It was ordered by an afterhours doctor to treat an ear infection following getting my ear syringed 2 days oreviously.

Tramadol is also an opioid but slightly different from codeine and morphine. Tramadol is a synthetic opioid and also has additive action that helps in pain relief.
And yes basically you can have a reaction similar to morphine or codeine as tramadol is also a form of opioid.
You can discuss the above information along with your reaction to your doctor. I hope it helps. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic. Have a wonderful day.
