Hi,
Welcome to HCM!

Well, weight gain is a symptom more related to hypothyroidism i.e decreased thyroid levels in the body.
On the other hand, increased thyroid levels in the body often lead to diarrhea and weight loss.

Since your gland was removed, you are taking thyroid hormone via medications. There is a chance that their levels in your body may be less and not as expected.

I'd suggest you to visit your treating doctor and get thyroid hormone investigations done to find out.
Hope this information helps. Feel free to ask if you have any doubt.

Wishing you good health.
With regards,
Dr. Sridhar
