Does Thyroid Problems Cause Occasional Pain In Thymus And Hoarseness?

Hi, I am a 35 year old female with an enlarged thyroid gland. I have had an ultrasound which verified it to be normal, however, I get sporadic pain in what seems like the thyroid area/thymus area and sometimes left breast. Whenever I m on the phone, people ask if I have sore throat or if I am exhausted because my throat is hoarse. Just wondering what this could be, if anything? thanks in advance!

Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Enlarged thyroid gland can sometimes cause pressure on the recurrent laryngeal nerve which passes near to it and causes hoarseness of voice.
As you already have done ultrasound of thyroid andfound it to be normal but have you done blood study for thyroid?
If you have goiter due to iodine deficiency or some other cause it can be a reason for enlarged thyroid which can be corrected with proper medications and hence reduce the swelling which indirectly will improvethe voice problem.
I hope i have answered your query well.
Thank you
