Does The Trapped Gas In Chest Cause Veins Inside The Breast Turn Purple?
For 4 days I have had chest pains on my left side under my breast. Probably gas, I think. But tonight I looked in the mirror and the veins on the inside towards the breast bone and on the right side of the breast are a dark purple. Is this do to the gas that was trapped? No more pain today. Thank you. Nan.
Hi. Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Gas trapped in chest can not cause veins in the breast to enlarge. Since you had pain and the veins became prominent, the commonest reasons I can think of are cancer of breast or any inflammatory process. Hence I would advise you the following: Get an ultrasonography of the breasts and mammography to confirm the diagnosis. If there is a definite lump or so in the breast please get FNAC that is fine needle aspiration cytology. Further management will depend upon the diagnosis made. ALso consult a General Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination and treatment.
