Does The Soft Density Lesion At The Left Iliac Fossa Mean Obstruction In Small Intestine?

Hi,
My brother is suffering from lower abdominal pain at the left side and is having black colored stools since a week. In the CT scan, they've discovered a soft tissue density lesion [60X38mm] at left iliac fossa and one of the small bowel loop is draping over the lesion. Does it mean an obstruction in the small intestine and because of which the stools are in black color? They've suggested a surgery to remove the tumor. Is it not cured by medicines?
Also, in the endoscopy they discovered 'Grade A Oesophagitis + G.E junction at 40cms [no hiatus hernia, no varices, no growth, Lax, LES]. Is the above problem related to this?
Thank you so much !

Dear parent, this means that the tumor is either pressing on the lop of small intestine thus obstructing it or the tumor infiltrate into the lumen of the loop of small intestine thus obstructing it. the problem of esophygitis is not related and can be treated by an anti inflammatory together with a proton pump inhibitor for the GERD
