Does The Intake Of Miralax Lead To Blockage In Urination?
My son has been having a constipation problem for the past 3 weeks. He's gone 7 days twice before passing stool. I gave him 1 capful of miralax for 4 days in a row, per doctors orders...he hasn't had a bowel movement for the past 3 days (plus did have the miralax on each of those days!!) and now hasn't urinated in 16 hours! Can Miralax make it difficult to pee? So far he's had 1 cup of juice with water this am...
Hi Miralax is polyethylene glycol and is a laxative.I t has no relation with not urinating for more then 16 hours .It may be something different. In ablity to pass urine for more then 24 hours cal lead to acute renal failure. As per your query it has nothing tpo do with constipation or miralax.I would suggest you to visit a nephrologist immmediately and get all the renal parameters checked. i think he can be in acute renal failure, An ultrasound KUB should also be done to rule out blockage in urethral tract.Anuria is an uindicator of acute renal failute,Take your child to the nearest ED.Initially ask him to take 1 litre of fluid orally even if after that urine does not passes ,he should be taken to nearest nephrology centre.
