Does The Drained Abscess On Face Reoccur?

I ve had a cyst on my face for about 8 months. About 3 months ago it drained the white strungy stuff. I ve noticed it getting bigger lately so yesterday I squeezed it and white liquid pus came out followed by a lot of blood. That area is completely flat (and bruised) today. I ve been washing it and putting antibiotic ointment on it. Do I need to follow up with a dr? Or is that it? I could feel the pocket after the first time it drained but I don t feel anything at all now. Just sore.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, greetings! Thanks for your query. U seem to be having a sebaceous cyst on your face. This is due to blocked sweat glands. It may get infected by bacteria in a few cases. I suggest you follow up with your doctor as you may require antibiotics so that the condition doesn't recur again. Also, there might be retained pockets of infection which, if not removed, may recur again.
