Does Taking Missed Contraceptive Pills Prepone Period?

Does taking missed contraceptive pills prepone period? I missed it twice and therefore had to take two at the same time. I had unprotected sex during this time. Now with a week left for the pack to finish I started having spotting since yesterday and there are slight cramps. Does this mean I am pregnant or just my periods have been preponed??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The use of both contraceptive pills at the same time would cause a delayed period because they would affect hormone levels so this is the likely cause.

If you wish to rule out pregnancy however, you would need to consider a pregnancy test.
Pregnancy tests check for HCG hormone which is detectable by day 11 to 14 after conception.
If this time has passed, then the test can be done.

I hope this helps
