Does Taking Laxatives Cause Periods To Come?

can taking laxatives cause a period to start? I just got off about a week ago and I took two laxatives two nights ago and one last night, and I started bleeding very lightly. I know the laxatives cause smooth muscle to work, and it can sometimes affect your uterus, but I m very scared. please help.

Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM.
Not really, depending on the laxative usually they dont affect the uterus.
spotting (light bleeding) after the period might be due to other reasons, please refer to your gynecologist for proper diagnosis if symptoms persist.
hope that helped.
