Does Strep Throat Cause Uvula To Be Inflamed?

Hi there, I've been diagnosed with Strep throat and have been taking antibiotics (amoxicillin) for two days. The white dots in my throat are gone, yet my uvula is still inflamed and bent out of shape. Along with this I'm still in extreme pain when I swallow. I worry that it is not just strep throat but another disorder that is causing my Uvula to look like this. Does strep throat cause your uvula to be inflamed? Should I just keep taking the amoxicillin and wait a few days, or see a doctor? Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It seems that you might be having acute upper respiratory tract infection giving rise soreness, irritation and redness on all over throat including uvula.
Nothing to worry.
Continue with antibiotic medicine, within 2-3 days you will start getting improvement.
Do antiseptic gargles.
Avoid cold drinks and junk food.
Ok and take care.
