Does Small Cell Lung Cancer Spread To The Brain If Untreated?

My mother has been diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. She continues to smoke and she refused treatment. Her health is starting to fail her lately. If this cancer has spreaded to her brain, can this cause confusion and how serious can she become once it has spreaded to her brain. She complains about constant headaches that won't go away.

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your mother has lung cancer. It can spread to the brain. Non small cell cancer has high chance of spread. Once its spread to brain it becomes stage 4. Then there is no chance of cure. She should stop smoking. Go for mri brain. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy is the treatment. Consult your doctor and plan accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
