Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Doctor, I got my Copper T removed 2 months back after using it for 2.5 years. This month I missed my period by a week and still waiting for it to come. I had water retention as usual but no periods. I consider a delay of 2-3 days as usual for my cycle. I don't think I am pregnant. What is causing the delay? Could changes in diet (i have been eating more fruits/veggies and less carbs of late anf have lost 3 kgs in past 2 months) have any bearing on this mentruation problem? Can I continue with my diet?
Hi, Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum. I have gone through your Query & I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.
As a physician I would like to tell you that Post Removal of Cu-T there could be menstrual disturbances for sometime in some women. Thus I would advise you to keep an eye on your periods and during that time use extra protection like Condoms or OC Pills of you don't want to get pregnant.
I would also like to tell you that your periods will be back to normal frequency and rhythm within 4-6 months. But, if they don't get regularize after that time, you should visit yout attending Obgy doctor and have yourself evaluated.
I would also like to tell you that you can continue your diet and weight loss regimes as it is not the cause behind your delayed periods.
Thanks for Trusting & Posting your Query on this forum. Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question. Have a nice Day.
Regards, Dr.Abhijeet
