Does Psoriasis Cause Reddish Dry Skin Patches?

I have recently started to get circular red dry skin patches on my skin. They are extremely itchy. It started out as one on my the front of my thigh and a couple on my forearms. Now the majority of them are on my side near my rips and my back. There are about 10 or 12 on my whole body. My brother as psoriasis I am wondering if that is what it is since psoriasis is genetic. My mom is a nurse and saw them and does not know what they are but is concerned since there are many of them.

as per your history, you may have psoriasis as your brother is also suffering from the same disease.
- since, the lesions are itchy, it can be allergic condition or fungal infection too as severe itching is less common in psoriasis.
- i would advise you to consult a dermatologist for proper dignosis and treatment.
--psoriasis is a autoimmune disease and it may run in families too.
-- you may take tab levocetrizine twice a day for itching.
-- you may require topical corticosteroids or antifungals, depending on the lesions present.
