Does Prednisone Cause Anger Issues?

My boyfriend was given prednisone 50 mg for a rash on his arm, he is angry a lot for no reason, i don't even know where it comes from. He can't sit still for long. Making up things to try and argue with me . This isn't his normal behavior. It's like he is losing it. Could this be the prednisone?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Prednisone is a steroid and is known to induce psychotic behavior at high doses and pronged usage.
However, the combination of the rash with altered behavior could also mean infections of brain. Before suspecting prednisone, it is advisable to get a general examination done and rule out any other causes that might be making him restless.
All the best.
