Does Position Of Placenta Change During Pregnancy?

Hello Doctor,
I had my ultrasound scan in the 36 week of my pregnancy. In the earlier scan's the placenta is said to be posterior with the grade 2 maturity. In the recent ultrasound it is as follows
Placenta: Fundus and body anterior wall pedominantly on left side.

My question is
1. Can u pls explain the above line in detail?
2: Does the postion of placenta change during pregnancy?
3:Is anterior positioning of placenta a matter to worry about?

Thanks,
Shirley.

Dear Madam,

The placental position may change from lower segment initially upwards as the uterus continues to grow. However, the placenta on the posterior wall is unlikely to migrate to anterior wall.

If the placenta is in the upper segment, its anterior position is not a matter to worry about. Your placenta is in the fundal region. So you need not worry.

As the pregnancy progresses, the placenta gets more and more matured. Grade 2 maturity means it is not fully matured. Usually it attains the full maturity by the end of 37 weeks. After 30 weeks, the maturity of grade 2 is attained and then subsequently any time after 37 weeks, full maturity is attained.

I hope you got the clarification.
